As far as second album comebacks go, Chapel Club’s Good Together is one to get excited about. The band scheduled an impromptu show at Dalston’s, extremely warm, Birthdays last night; for their first London show since October 2011. Seeing the five-piece setting down their fuzz driven guitars, for a night of synth led euphoria, debuting new tracks such as Sleep Alone, Shy and Good Together, inspiring the crowd to dance, for what was probably the first time since Chapel Club formed. And without forgetting their old fans, a few Palace tracks were even dropped into the set, including a new take upon Surfacing and the anthemic single – All The Eastern Girls.
Needless to say, there were a couple of miniscule slip-ups, but what do you expect from a band that have totally turned their sound around and haven’t played live for so long?
