WB Gig Review// Anti-Flag

Location: The Forum, Hatfield 

Bands: Anti-Flag, Bouncing Souls, The Skints, The Menzingers, The Computers, Red City Radio, Leagues Apart.

 

Little did we know that on our last jaunt up to Hatfield’s Forum, it would be one of The King Blues last ever UK shows. However, this time we headed up to the infamous University venue to witness the punk rock stylings of Anti-Flag. Headlining your own festival is a pretty big thing, especially when you bring a selection of great acts with you, in which, by the time that Anti-Flag took to the stage, the crowded slew of Ant-Flag T-shirts were all warmed up and beer-drenched from the amount of flying pints.

Whereas, Anti-Flag played an invigouratingly energetic set, thrashing through an eclectic selection of Leftfield punk anthems. Including a fair selection of tracks from their latest LP, notably including The Ranks of The Masses Rising and This Is The New Sound. Bringing their brutal set to a close with Die For Your Government, witnessing crowd surfing from band and crowd members, as well as the dismantling and sharing of the band’s drum kit. Proving that punk is, indeed, not dead…
