The Whiteboard Project

Single// Foals – Inhaler

Following the announcement of a string of tour dates and the release of their third studio album Holy Fire, Oxford’s finest have returned with a music video to accompany a brand new track. Inhaler is the first release from the quintet’s forthcoming LP, set for release in February 2013, joined by a video that encompasses a montage of clips that include skating, tattooing, body popping and a cut-scene of the band, themselves, playing live. What more could you want? But the track itself portrays a departure from the reverberated guitar fills and dance-punk of their previous material: instead embracing a strutting bass guitar intent that provides a notion of groove-laden funk, but swerves into an unexpected crushing guitar riff and heavy chorus vocals from frontman Yannis Phillipakis. Drawing elements of their soundscape slightly closer to their fellow equestrian-titled contemporaries – Pulled Apart By Horses. Foals’ new material is a certain move forward from the indie disco floor-fillers that the world is used to, but is still just as exciting as ever.

The single can be downloaded for free with the pre-ordering of Holy Fire, and you can check out the video below.
