As if the Coachella line up announcement wasn’t enough excitement for one day: Britpop veterans and Sheffield misfits – Pulp – have announced the formal release of After You, the first glimpse of new material since 2002’s Bad Cover Version. The song that was given as a Christmas gift to fans that attended what may have been the band’s final UK show.
For those that haven’t already heard the leaked version, it will come as no surprise to find that frontman Jarvis Cocker’s unique vocal style, clever lyrics and seedy gasps are still as present as they ever were. Proving that Pulp may just be one of the only bands to reunite and refrain from drastically changing their song writing approach.
The single will be available to download from iTunes on Monday, but meanwhile, have a listen to the track below.
